Images of Winter - the broken pattern
Still in the process of transferring from Google + I came across this. I guess all photographers have had a go at an image like this, a crisp hard frost on winter leaves. But I also like the whole idea of the failed symmetry, the non-repeating pattern and here the frost just serves to pick out the leaves and heighten their contrast differential.
Images of Winter - antisymmetry
An early winter image from the east coast of the UK showing traditional sailing vessels. I fight the usual rules of landscape and even composition. You have seen this in a few of my pictures that purport to be ‘landscapes’. I want the stress in this image to wrong, I want it to be slightly difficult on the eye. Because I want you to see rather than just look.
