No. 1 - The lesser known scenery of Cumbria

The first of two images celebrating some of the lesser known landscapes of Cumbria. This is Allonby on the Cumbrian coast. It has beautiful but extreme sunsets. The camera sensor here has played a role in imparting the extreme colours at low light and high contrast. It works well. I like its near abstract quality. I prefer landscapes that don’t fit the norm.

No. 2 - The lesser known scenery of Cumbria

The second of two images celebrating some of the lesser known landscapes of Cumbria. This is above Pardshaw near the west coast. Away from the main fells the rolling countryside offers some beautiful wide open skies and wind blown trees picked out here in the light of the low winter sun.
