Contre Jour - Bristol and Paris cityscapes

Paris in Spring

A contre-jour image, photographed against the light. This image taken in Paris looks highly filtered, even perhaps with a starburst. Well its not. I don’t use filters much. This is straight out the camera. The star effect is due to an odd reflection off the camera and the colouration is a combination of the cameras sensor limitations and what it was really like. Sometimes you just get lucky.

Bristol in Spring

A contre-jour image, photographed against the light. This is one has been taken in Bristol from my bedroom window in my old house. You might quibble with my definition about centre jour, but I am over exposing the moon here. So this is actually the moon on an evening looking towards a hill called Dundry. There was an odd mist and some very strange lighting. I deliberately pushed the sensor on the camera and enhance the colour just a smidge. I lived in that house more than 10 years and I only ever saw this weird effect once in all that time.
